The scene was a guy was asking for advice about a recent promotion at Mercury Drug. However, the promotion will take Sunday Worship away from him. This man has an excellent track record with no absences regardless of weather. But, he rejected the offer and explained it to his superiors, to whom understood his position. How many of us has our integrity in tact that we are willing to turn down a better offer?
The next P is Petition. A man was waiting for approval for his franchise approval. To expedite the process, he needs to shell out 150K. He stands firm in his decision to wait, resulting in more delays. They petitioned the matter to the Lord, and true enough, he got the franchise. The world pressures us to take the short route, the easy way, time is gold, time is money so we jump the gun and succumb to its lies just to have it done. We have forgotten however that we answer to an even higher authority, the authority of God. He assures us in His word that if we remain in Him, we can ask anything and it will be granted (John 15:7).
I wasn't able to get the 3rd P but rest assured that I will get it and update this blog.
We need to understand that we should always submit to God's authority no matter what the world says. Jesus himself said “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
The Marshals did an interesting debate on whether Manny Pacquiao should run for VP. Each side presented their thoughts hilariously, we are reminded on one important fact. Why are we debating with each other when we can unite our thoughts in healthy discussion.
Men@Work also gave a hilarious presentation reminding us that we don't have to keep on copying other countries when we can build our own identity, the Filipino Race is not obsolete.
Another gave an excellent performance using black light and singing to the tune of LUZVIMINDA, one of my favorite presentations. It is not easy dealing with black light especially when you have to hold the black cloth up. A great effort.
And Friday Royale gave a rendition of Mi Ultimo Adios in Tagalog, 16 stanzas showing Rizal to be a born-again Christian. I will post the entire Mi Ultimo Adios (In English and Tagalog) and highlight the key points showing his Christianity.
I-Connect Couples Journey Group gave us an eye opener as to our ignorance on our own history and knowledge of Rizal. For every time the truth is being explained, the background music is played preventing us from hearing the truth. It showed that we need to seek more, dig more into our History and know the REAL SCORE and STORY of our LOST HISTORY. I will try to gather some information and share it on another blog.
I wasn't able to watch the others, sorry = (
This was surely an unforgettable night for me, and I am sure that it was for those who supported this event. Coach Edgar Ramos reminded us of the importance of FELLOWSHIP, of knowing our brethren, caring for them, bearing each others burden. It opened my eyes to the reality of life. No man is an island, everyone needs someone to talk to.
I am excited to have more of these events but on a greater scale. I believe that unity can achieve anything. God bless us all. Congratulations to all who participated. To God be the Glory!
No man ever reached to excellence in any one art or profession without having passed through the slow and painful process of study and preparation. ~Horace
